THE MAIN MISTAKES WHEN WORKING WITH TEXTURE PASTE IN SCULPTURAL PAINTING:
1️⃣One of the mistakes that many people make is to wash the tools and palette in the sink after work.
Don't do that! Firstly, prolonged exposure to water spoils the wooden handles of palette knives. Secondly, the remnants of the material over time can lead to clogging of sewer pipes. Use wet or dry towels to clean the palette knives and palette.
2️⃣Add water to the new paste.
Having opened a new jar of texture paste, you do not need to add anything to it! It is not necessary to add water just like that.
To extend the shelf life of the opened cans of paste, which are periodically used, we recommend mixing the paste once a month. At the same time, if necessary, you can sprinkle the paste with water from the spray gun and mix thoroughly. But this does not apply to new pastes.
3️⃣Mix dried and fresh paste.
If the texture paste on the palette has dried out during a technical break or for another reason, it should be thrown into the trash. For example, if you smear a thin layer of texture paste on the palette, it dries much faster. In any case, do not return the dried paste to the fresh jar!
4️⃣Mix complementary paste colors.
There are 55 shades of texture paste in the catalog of the brand "Evgenia Ermilova". Different shades can be mixed with each other. But when mixing shades of paste, the same rules apply as when mixing paints. When mixing two complementary shades to each other, a dirty color is obtained. Complimentary shades of paste can be combined in the work, but it is not necessary to mix, so that dirt does not turn out.
5️⃣Add something to the paste for thickening or coloring.
Texture paste of the brand "Evgenia Ermilova" is a completely ready-to-use material. The paste has the consistency that it should have, allows you to create voluminous petals up to 7 cm, is very durable after drying and practically does not shrink.
If you want to thicken the new paste a little, then you can just leave it overnight with the lid slightly open, and then mix. And to get a new shade of paste, you don't need to add anything either. Mix different shades of tinted pastes to get additional options.
If you add something to the paste, you change its declared properties. Volumetric petals may not work at all!
